When I start the server the first Line reads "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." is this normal or is something not setup correctly?

This isn't normal. :( I assume you're on some flavor of windows?

Are you using the included .bat file to start the server?

Also, if you don't mind sharing, what is the full path to the server's directory?

Ah! Sorry, I was confused there for a second.

Yes, you should see that message (assuming everything else starts as normal) when you start up and no updates have been installed on the preceding launch.

Is everything else starting up ok?

Yes everything seems fine, but it does seem to be a bit more laggy than it was last time I played which was around a year and a half ago. Glad to see you are still at it though, because this is an awesome game that just keeps getting better. I plan on setting up a server for me and my kids again and maybe even finding you a bug or two like I did last time.

Yeah, I am trying to get a patch out soon that will fix some of the lagginess.

A lot of it seems to be centered around player movement (I seem to have either introduced or magnified the effects of a bug when implementing variable movement speed). There also seems to be a much more pronounced hit when players are logging in and also when they are transitioning between instances. I have an idea or two on how to approach fixing those at least. ;)

I am glad you are still enjoying it and will hopefully have the playability improved upon shortly.

Please do let me know when you find one or more issues.

Cheers,
Chris
